About the project
Through a series of co-design workshops with a wide range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents, educators and subject matter experts, IM led the creative direction, production, and visual design of the initiatives’ branding and resource development, including videos, animation and fact sheets.
This included the headlining embodied design, titled “Strong from the Start,” done in collaboration with artist Lili Jacobsen and IM’s Graphic Design team. This design was influenced by the input gathered from the extensive community consultation phase, ensuring we created something authentic and engaging, which echoed the voices of the initiative's target audience.
The solution
Growing Deadly Brains intersects cultural knowing and being with neuroscience (understanding of brain function and its relation to behavior) to present a culturally informed child brain development program for parents and professionals.
IM was tasked to bring the information to life by creating a suite of engaging learning materials and resources.
The challenge
Growing Deadly Brains launched in July of 2026, with free, publicly accessible tools and resources to assist in the development of children aged 0 - 8, and bolster Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander understanding of the importance of building young minds through culture and the science of brain development.
